From film title to phenomenon, the rise of the bucket list has become a great motivational tool to help Britons live life to the fullest according to a new report out today. Nearly half of Britons (47%) have a UK bucket list in place with attending Wimbledon, enjoying afternoon tea at the Ritz, exploring Giant’s Causeway, visiting the British Museum and admiring the Crown Jewels at Tower of London being in the top five must do activities in their lifetime.
The survey conducted by Travelodge with 2,000 British adults revealed that the average person’s UK bucket list contains 16 experiences or achievements that they hope to accomplish during their lifetime.
On average Britons think that it will take them 11 years to accomplish their UK bucket list
Six out of ten (60%) respondents claim having a bucket list is good for their wellbeing as it keeps them focused. Whilst a fifth (20%) of British adults in a relationship reported that having a bucket list is good for their relationship - as sharing a bucket list experience brings them closer together.

12. Exploring the Shetland Islands
13. Attending Notting Hill Carnival, London
14. Seeing the capital from the London Eye
15. Exploring York
16. Attending Glastonbury Festival
17. Visiting the Roman Baths in Bath
18. Exploring Snowdonia
19. Taking a selfie at John O’ Groats
20. Visiting Edinburgh Castle
The survey also revealed that having a bucket list is more popular with adults aged 18 to 29 years old at (58%) compared to 30 -54 years old which is 46 per cent and Britons aged 55 and over which is 43 per cent.
Interestingly across all age groups going to Wimbledon is the top activity on their UK bucket lists, followed by afternoon tea at the Ritz.

The report also revealed that Chester has the highest percentage of adults that have a bucket list in place at 79%, followed by Brighton at 63% and Liverpool at 60%.
