To celebrate the Christmas season Travelodge, the UK’s fastest growing low-cost hotel chain, is offering couples called Mary and Joseph a free night’s stay at one of their 250 hotels. The move is to make up for the hotel industry not having any rooms left on Christmas Eve, all those years ago. There may not be any myrrh and frankincense in the room but there is a comfy king size bed and an en-suite bathroom!

We are more than happy to welcome any Mary and Joseph couples into our hotel; it’s definitely more comfortable than a stable. I just hope they don’t bring their donkey!”
Travelodge family rooms are perfect for Mary and Joseph and definitely have room for a baby and a manger. Room rates start from £25 across the country (from £45 in central London) and you only pay for the room and not the number of people that stay, so even if the shepherds turn up too, it won’t cost much and nobody has to sleep in the stable.
