Once a famous shipbuilding city, in recent years, Newcastle has fast gained a reputation for its nightlife, not its maritime. Not to be put off, the northern city has a lot to offer the family. Stay in one of our hotels near Newcastle Station to enjoy its interesting history, family attractions and coastal location. Local Term Alert: Oh, in case you’re wondering, there are many variations where the term Geordies came from, but the real reason is because they showed support for King George II during the Jacobite rebellion in 1745.

Book hotels near Newcastle Station

Book a Hotel near Newcastle Station and head to Grey Street. It doesn’t sound pretty, but it’s one of the most beautiful streets in England. Have a stroll or pop in to one of the cafés lining the street and then perhaps a play or musical at the Royal Theatre? If nothing takes your fancy, promise us you’ll still look around. It won’t disappoint and it’s only a five-minute walk from our Newcastle Central Hotel. For something different, visit the Victoria Tunnel,  a 19th century wagon way underneath the city. Originally built to transport coal to the ships, it’s now an interactive attraction where you can learn about the history of Newcastle. After a long day, this subterranean surprise is less than a mile from our Newcastle Central Hotel.
